Your Carrier Paid. Just Not Enough.

A check isn't the same as a fair settlement. If the numbers don't cover the actual repair cost, your claim is underpaid.

About This Service

Understanding Underpaid Insurance Claims

You filed the claim, the adjuster came out, and the carrier sent a check. But the number doesn't cover what it actually costs to fix the damage properly — to code, with the right materials, by a licensed contractor. That gap between what they paid and what the repair really costs? That's what we recover.

Our Approach

How We Handle This Differently

We don't just say "the carrier underpaid." We prove it. We write our own Xactimate estimate with line-by-line justification. Every item is backed by building code requirements, manufacturer installation specs, and current material pricing. When a carrier sees a supplement with IRC section numbers and manufacturer data sheets attached, they take it seriously.

Carrier Tactics

When Your Carrier Pushes Back

"Our estimate reflects fair market value"

We compare line-by-line against actual contractor pricing and material costs in your area, not the carrier's internal pricing database.

"Those items aren't related to the loss"

We document the causal chain from the covered event to every repair item, with photos showing the damage path and code requirements triggered.

"O&P isn't warranted"

We apply the three-trade rule and document every trade involved in the repair. When three or more trades are needed, O&P is standard.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

I already cashed the insurance check. Can I still dispute the amount?

Yes. Cashing a check doesn't waive your right to supplement the claim for additional amounts. You're entitled to the full cost of covered repairs, even after partial payment.

What is O&P and why does it matter?

Overhead and Profit (O&P) is the general contractor's markup for managing the repair project. When a repair involves three or more trades (roofing, siding, drywall, painting, etc.), O&P is a standard cost. Carriers often leave it out to reduce the payout.

How do you determine what my claim is really worth?

We inspect the property, document every damaged item, write an Xactimate estimate using current pricing, and cite the building codes and manufacturer specs that dictate how repairs must be done. The estimate reflects the real cost to fix the property to code.
